Pyrophoric liquid/pyrophoric solid test

Pyrophoric liquid test
1. Test method
Self-igniting liquid tester: used to determine whether a liquid will burn after being added to an inert carrier and exposed to air, or whether contact with air will turn filter paper into carbon black or burn. The instrument automatically determines whether the test substance burns and automatically times it.
Test steps: usually include placing a liquid sample on an inert carrier, exposing it to air, and observing whether there is spontaneous combustion or carbonization of filter paper within 5 minutes.
2. Judgment criteria
If the liquid ignites or carbonizes the filter paper within 5 minutes, it is judged to be a pyrophoric liquid.
The test usually needs to be repeated several times to ensure the accuracy of the results.
3. Precautions
The test should be carried out in a fume hood to prevent the accumulation of harmful gases.
The operator should wear appropriate protective equipment, such as protective glasses and gloves.
Pyrophoric solid test
1. Test method
Self-igniting solid tester: used to test whether solid substances burn when in contact with air, in accordance with relevant standards and manuals. The instrument automatically determines whether the test substance burns and automatically times it.
Test steps:
Filter paper test: Place the solid sample on the filter paper and observe whether it spontaneously ignites within 5 minutes.
Drop test: Drop the solid sample from a height of 1 meter onto the inorganic insulation board and observe whether it spontaneously ignites within 5 minutes.
2. Judgment criteria
If the solid spontaneously ignites within 5 minutes, it is judged as a pyrophoric solid.
The test usually needs to be repeated several times to ensure the accuracy of the results.
3. Precautions
The test should be carried out in a fume hood to ensure safety.
Operators should wear appropriate protective equipment.
